Brian C. Vertz, ESQ, MBA, AVA, has more than 15 years of experience as a Pittsburgh family lawyer serving professionals, business owners, executives, spouses, and families in transition.  He is listed in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America ® for family law. Mr. Vertz was elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2003 and a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer for family law every year since 2005. He holds credentials as an Accredited Valuation Analyst, denoting proficiency in business valuation theory and practice. Mr. Vertz has served on the governing bodies of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Sections. He was a founding member of the Pittsburgh Matrimonial chapter of the American Inns of Court. He is the Area 12 Governor for Toastmasters International and a former Vice President-Education.

Mr. Vertz is a broadcast presenter and author for Family Law Update (2006 – 2009), one of the most-watched family law programs of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He is an author of Business Valuation and Divorce (PBI 2009), Tax Consequences in Divorce (PBI 2005) and Drafting Marital Settlement Agreements (PBI 2003, 2008) as well as Fundamentals of Family Law (PBI 1994 – 2009). Mr. Vertz publishes a website and blog devoted to business and financial issues in divorce at www.bvsource.com. He was educated at the University of Michigan (BA 1988), the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (JD 1992), and the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business (MBA 1991). He is admitted to practice law in the State Bar of Georgia, the state and Federal courts of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
