Glasser
Daniel H. Glasser is a founding member of Pollock Begg Komar Glasser LLC and a former senior attorney with the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll as a member of the Family Law Group.
In 2005 and 2007, Mr. Glasser was chosen by his peers as a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer in family law, a designation representing the top 5% of Pennsylvania lawyers.
In the area of family law, Mr. Glasser has negotiated and tried cases involving complex domestic relations issues related to divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, tax and valuation matters, and execution and enforcement. His practice extends to various counties throughout the state of Pennsylvania, and he has briefed and argued numerous appeals in the state appellate courts.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Glasser is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (Family Law Section) where he previously served as an elected member of council and as co-chair of the Program Committee. As a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Family Law Section), he is the chair of the Legislative Committee, and a past chair of the Program and Support Guidelines Committees. During his tenure as chair, the Guidelines Committee had substantial input in the formulation of the new statewide support guidelines. Moreover, as a past member of the Court Rules Committee, Mr. Glasser initiated the drafting and enactment of new local rules for domestic relations cases. He is a current and former elected member of the Council of the Allegheny County Bar Association's Family Law Section and served as Barrister in the American Matrimonial Inns of Court.
Mr. Glasser also has experience as a business litigator and has dealt with a wide variety of issues in state and federal courts and administrative tribunals.
Mr. Glasser has authored and co-authored various publications and seminar materials on domestic relations law (including tax aspects), ethics, evidence and tax law and has been a featured speaker at various seminars and continuing legal education programs, including bar association seminars in Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Boston, Bermuda, Toronto and Harrisburg.
Mr. Glasser graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1990, where he was a member of the Law Review, a Student Bar Association board member and president of his graduating class. Additionally, as a member of the school's Appellate Advocacy Team, he was a five-state regional champion and a national finalist. He received a bachelor of science in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University in 1987.
